The 2026 Audi Q3 is all set to arrive in India with a redesigned look, a technology-packed cabin and a few metallic touches that help its interior shine. Aluminium inserts add a premium edge to the dashboard and cabin surfaces, complementing the soft-touch materials and digital displays.

Under the bonnet, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 201 BHP and 320 Nm of torque, while Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) adds confidence on the road. The engine is also E20-compatible, a relevant consideration for motorists in India as the use of ethanol-blended petrol grows.

Aluminium detailing puts the cabin in the fast lane

Step inside the new Q3 and the aluminium inserts help set the tone. Paired with soft-touch materials, solid doors and consistent panel gaps, they give the cabin a refined finish without trying too hard to show off. The result is an interior that feels suitably premium, with the metal detailing adding a little extra sparkle to the everyday drive.

Technology takes the front seat, too. An 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus and a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen sit together in a panoramic digital display, joined by a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting and a 420W, 12-speaker Sonos audio system with a subwoofer.

The heated front seats offer good cushioning and support, although ventilation and massage functions are missing. Integrating several functions, such as air-conditioning controls, into the touchscreen keeps the dashboard looking neat. Sometimes, a physical button still knows how to stay in its lane.

Measuring 4,531 millimetres (mm) long, 1,859 mm wide and 1,623 mm tall, the Q3 has a 2,681 mm wheelbase. It is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo platform, bringing together a redesigned exterior and a cabin that places material finish, digital convenience and passenger comfort in the spotlight.

201 BHP, Quattro AWD and E20 edge

The Q3’s 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine produces 201 BHP and 320 Nm of torque. Audi has stated a 0–100 kilometres per hour (km/h) time of 7. seconds and a top speed of 229 km/h. Acceleration is strong, torque is readily available, and the seven-speed DSG transmission delivers smooth gear changes.

The engine’s E20 compatibility is another practical detail for the Indian context. Hence, the powertrain is compatible with petrol containing up to 20 per cent ethanol.

Additionally, Quattro AWD helps deliver reassuring grip, while progressive electric power steering and controlled body roll contribute to confident handling. The SUV remains composed at higher speeds, making highway driving one of its stronger suits.

The suspension combines MacPherson struts at the front with a multi-link setup at the rear. At higher speeds, the Q3 remains composed, but sharp bumps and potholes can make their presence felt. Suspension noise is also noticeable. So, while the SUV is happy to stretch its legs on the highway, rough city roads may occasionally put a wrinkle in the ride.

Plenty of kit, but have all the features hit the mark?

The Q3’s equipment list includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric tailgate, acoustic glazing for the front windows, a heat-reflecting windshield and a practical boot with storage compartments, a cargo net and a 12V outlet. However, connectivity reportedly disconnected in the test car: a glitch that could put a dent in an otherwise polished experience.

Safety equipment includes nine airbags, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, front emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, driver attention and fatigue monitoring, and Digital Matrix LED headlights. The SUV has also received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

There are, however, a few missing pieces in the feature puzzle. A 360-degree camera, a full ADAS suite, rear sunblinds and ventilated front seats are absent. City fuel consumption could fall to 10 km/l or lower, depending on traffic and driving style, while the lack of a diesel option may give high-mileage drivers something to think about before putting their foot down.

The sum-up: A premium drive with a few caveats

The 2026 Audi Q3 is scheduled to make its debut on October 16 in India, assembled at the SAVWIPL plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. It brings together aluminium cabin accents, a technology-led dashboard, strong turbo-petrol performance and confident highway manners. Its interior detailing gives the cabin a welcome premium sheen, while Quattro AWD and composed handling add substance to the style. A few tweaks are expected to make any caveat disappear in a whisk. The 2026 Audi Q3 is ready to offer you a smooth, memorable ride regardless of a few bumps in the road.
