RUSAL, one of the world's largest aluminium producers, gathered over 250 leaders from Turkey's aluminium industry at the Company's annual Istanbul seminar to discuss the latest market trends, introduce new products and client services, and explore cooperation opportunities to further decarbonise the sector. An unprecedented level of interest and a record number of participants underscored the strategic importance of the partnership between RUSAL and its clients in Turkey.
{alcircleadd}The seminar aims to consolidate all relevant industry information, including global market trends, insights into the Turkish and European markets, pricing strategies, and more. This year's hot topic was decarbonisation and how RUSAL can help clients reduce their carbon footprint.
Turkey aims to reduce the carbon footprint of aluminium products to 2.5 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of aluminium by 2050. This goal requires an 80 per cent decarbonisation of the aluminium industry's production and supply chain. During the seminar, RUSAL presented solutions for achieving these targets using, among other things, its own products.
These include ALLOW aluminium, which has a carbon footprint of just 2.3 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of aluminium, and recycled products like PEFA. RUSAL also promotes a circular economy through scrap aluminium recycling. The gradual introduction of ALLOW INERTA, which uses inert anodes, will further reduce the carbon footprint of aluminium to nearly zero.
Roman Borisov, RUSAL’s Head of Sales EMEA, states, "RUSAL is dedicated to organising these annual events to keep our clients abreast of the latest trends in the global aluminium industry, such as reducing carbon footprints. Our primary goal is to equip our clients with the information they need to make informed choices and to support our partners on their path to decarbonisation. We encourage them to use our low-carbon, high-quality primary aluminium as part of their value proposition. We are here to assist them in setting up production for quality products in any industry."
Turkey is RUSAL's top-3 market outside Russia, with total sales amounting to USD 1.2 billion. This accounts for c. 10 per cent of the Company's overall revenue, driven by the country's diverse and aluminium-intensive processing and manufacturing industries. Among RUSAL's key clients are Turkey's leading car manufacturers, construction firms, and consumer goods and packaging producers.
Over the past decade, aluminium imports to Turkey have more than doubled, with Russian aluminium, primarily supplied by RUSAL, accounting for 25 per cent of these imports. RUSAL offers its clients in Turkey a dedicated, localised, 24/7 customer support platform that provides comprehensive information about all its products and services.
İhsan Kösoğlu, RUSAL Representative Director in Turkey, said, "RUSAL is thrilled to see the continued growth and success of our partnership with reputable Turkish partners and clients. Turkey has always been one of RUSAL's key markets, which is further confirmed by our growing sales in the country and huge interest in our products and services from our partners and clients in such areas as construction, car manufacturing, packaging, etc. We are proud to contribute to the growth of the Turkish aluminium sector and look forward to continuing our strong partnership in the years to come".
As a responsible supplier, RUSAL is committed to staying informed of the latest industry developments and helping clients navigate challenges and difficulties. Such annual seminars are held across all its key markets. Similar seminars have already been held this year in South Korea and China, reflecting RUSAL's commitment to providing high-level customer service and support to its partners worldwide.
