RUSAL Donates Medical Equipment to Combat Cholera Outbreak in Sierra Leone

Ten tons of medical equipment valued at more than fifty thousand dollars have been dispatched by the International Bauxite and Aluminum Company in Russia (Rusal), following the recent Outbreak of cholera in Sierra Leone. Speaking on the arrangement for the dispatch of the consignment, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr. John Sahr Yambasu said that the equipment will soon be arriving in Sierra Leone for Freetown and Various districts and chiefdoms in the country.
Ambassador Yambasu informed the Head of the International Department of Rusal, Dr. Sergey Chestnoy said that the equipment will be transported from the Republic of Guinea to Sierra Leone. He informed the delegation that the government of Sierra Leone has set up a task force to address the cholera outbreak in Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Yambasu thanked Rusal for the kind gesture that the company has demonstrated in helping to address this epidemic in Sierra Leone.
The Head of Department of International Cooperation of Rusal, Dr. Sergey Chestnov thanked the Ambassador for putting in place all the necessary clearance from the State House, Customs Department, Immigration and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, to ensure the Consignment of medical equipment and drugs to control the disease is in Sierra Leone.
Also at the presentation ceremony in Moscow is a representative of Rusal, Mr. Andrey Arsenev and the Head of Chancery of Sierra Leone Embassy in Moscow, Mr. John Bobor Laggah.
