Alba expands collaboration with Array Innovation to include advanced data modelling and AI on pot lines for enhanced efficiency and safety

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has expanded its partnership with ARRAY Innovation, a Bahrain-based leader in AI and cloud-native digital solutions, to launch a new high-tech project focused on advanced data science, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for its pot lines.

Unveiled at Gateway Gulf 2025 Investment Forum hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain, this initiative brings together Alba’s operational expertise and ARRAY Innovation’s Quantitative Development team to deliver cutting-edge AI-powered decision support tools for expert Alba operators. The project will model and apply AI to optimise key reactions in the aluminium reduction process, including increasing energy efficiency, optimising bath temperature, and extending pot life. These solutions are expected to reduce costs, minimise downtime, enhance product quality, boost process efficiency, and further improve employee safety - Alba’s top priority.
