Under the astute leadership of CEO Sachin Shivaram, WAF has diligently crafted its path towards expansion, leveraging acquisitions as pivotal milestones in its journey.

"ATEK is a key supplier to leading motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson. More than 100 years ago, Harley was among WAF's foundational customers in the early 1900s, and with this acquisition, we're pleased to have this story come full circle, and with the strong relationship ATEK leadership has forged with all its customers," he explained.

Reviving historical connections

With a historical thread dating back over a century, the acquisition of ATEK Metal Technologies holds profound significance. ATEK's role as a key supplier to iconic motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson harks back to a shared history with WAF, rekindling connections established in the early 1900s. This synergistic alignment underscores the enduring relationships fostered by both companies.

ATEK's specialisation in low-pressure permanent mould castings and tilt-pour moulding presents a complementary addition to WAF's repertoire. Beyond bolstering existing operations, this acquisition facilitates WAF's foray into diverse market segments, including motorsports, transportation, agriculture, and the medical industry. With a focus on deepening market penetration, WAF positions itself at the forefront of industry innovation and versatility.

Testimony of trust and transition

Mark Osmanski, CEO of ATEK Companies, reflects on the decision to transition ownership, emphasising the assurance found in WAF's stewardship.

"Making the decision to sell ATEK was not an easy one, but after meeting with WAF leadership, it was clear that the company and team would be in good hands. We couldn't ask for a better company to take ownership," he implied.

As WAF embarks on its fourth acquisition in recent years, the company's trajectory is guided by a steadfast allegiance to its roots. While expanding beyond state borders, WAF remains anchored in its Manitowoc origins, preserving the essence of its heritage amidst dynamic growth. The ongoing $25 million expansion project in Manitowoc exemplifies WAF's dedication to technological advancement and operational excellence, heralding a future defined by innovation and resilience.

"Even as we grow outside of the state of Wisconsin, our beating heart remains in Manitowoc," Shivaram concluded.
