
The average spot price of alumina continued to trend higher over the week. After remaining flat at RMB 2125 per tonne on Friday, the price increased by RMB 8 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2133 per tonne and RMB 2143per tonne on April 27 and April 28. The price on Thursday stood at RMB 2209 per tonne, up RMB 26 per tonne from Wednesday. The market was closed on Friday for the Labour Day holiday in China.
Other raw materials like Bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si<5.5)Shanxi, Alumina (Imported), Australian Alumina FOB Price, and Prebaked Anode East stood at RMB 365 per tonne, RMB 2170 per tonne, USD 242 per tonne and RMB 2700 per tonne as of Friday, April 30.
A00 aluminium ingot price continued to rise over the week. The price started the week with an increase of RMB 50 per tonne and came in at RMB 12510per tonne on Monday, April 27. A00 aluminium ingot price stood higher at RMB 12590 per tonne and RMB 12790 per tonne on Tuesday and Wednesday. The price is currently hovering at RMB 12800 per tonne as of April 30.
As updated by Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, continued to fell on strong demand and fewer arrivals. Inventories stood at 1.204 million tonnes in the week ended April 30, down 155,000 tonnes from the previous week.
