Vietnam’s Prime Minister happy with Tai Rai’s one year progress

Owned by the Viet Nam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the Tan Rai project was initiated in 2014 with the capacity to produce 650,000 tons of aluminium per year. Besides the aluminium factory, the project also includes mineral extraction and sorting.
Last year the aluminium plant produced 485,000 tons of metal and in 2015 the number is expected to rise to 540,000.
The project has brought positive change to the community, adding 1,450 jobs in Lam Dong aluminium company where each worker is entitled to an average VND 6.6 million ($309) per month. Another 12,000 additional stable jobs have also been added improving the living conditions in the Lam Dong Province.
The Vinacomin group reported that they exported 490,000 tons of aluminium to 11 countries and territories earning US $160 million.
