
Vedanta Limited elevated its aluminium products prices by INR 4,500 per tonne on Thursday, March 2, after the last revision about a week ago on February 25. The latest hike has brought the company’s aluminium wire rod price to INR 233,000-240,500 per tonne versus INR 228,500-236,000 per tonne on February 25.

Vedanta’s aluminium billet price stands at INR 234,500 per tonne, with effect from Thursday, March 2, compared to INR 230,000 per tonne on February 25. The company’s aluminium ingot price experienced no exception but saw an increase of INR 4,500 per tonne from INR 221,000-251,500 per tonne on February 25 to INR 225,500-256000 per tonne on March 2.
Vedanta links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the Londom Metal Exchange, which surged by US$59.50 per tonne or 2.58 per cent from US$2,307 per tonne on February 24 to US$2,366.50 per tonne on March 2.
Vedanta's aluminium business typically accounts for one-third of the company's consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share of India's primary aluminium market.
