Vedanta Aluminium appoints finance veteran Abhinav Gupta as Jharsuguda CFO

Vedanta Aluminium Metal has appointed Abhinav Gupta as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jharsuguda, effective July 2026, adding a finance executive with more than two decades of experience across Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc to the Odisha operation.
Gupta joins Vedanta Aluminium from Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore, where he served as Deputy CFO for the Iron Ore Business from December 2021 to June 2026.
In his new position, Gupta will oversee the Jharsuguda unit’s financial strategy and business planning, along with cash flow, working capital, capital allocation, cost management, risk management, compliance, and governance.

Gupta brings long finance experience
Before joining Vedanta Sesa Goa, Gupta spent nearly 16 years with Hindustan Zinc, holding a series of finance leadership positions.
He served as Head Finance, RA SBU, from July 2019 to December 2021 and previously led finance for the Project Vertical from August 2014 to June 2019.
Earlier, Gupta was Head Finance, DSC SBU, from January 2011 to July 2014. He began his leadership tenure at Hindustan Zinc as Head Finance, Zinc Smelter, Debari, Udaipur, a position he held from March 2006 to January 2011.
Gupta is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Maheshwari Higher Secondary, Jaipur.
His appointment places financial planning, capital allocation, cost management, and governance under his remit as Vedanta Aluminium continues to manage operations at its Jharsuguda unit.
