The United Steelworkers (USW) has approved five-year collective bargaining contract with Constellium to end strike at Second Street production facility. Around 400 members of Local 200 will start returning to work on January 12, 2021.

USW was on strike at Constellium aluminium plant because of unfair labor practices.
"Together, we took a stand on Constellium's attack on our members' seniority rights," USW District 9 Director Daniel Flippo said. "Our solidarity provided the protection that was able to be achieved, and we look forward to working with this strong and vibrant, engaged membership in the future."
The USW member started the strike on December 15, 2020 after months of negotiations with management failing to bargain to a fair, acceptable agreement despite extending the previous contract more than a month past its Nov. 1, 2020 expiration.
Aluminium manufacturing plant has over 1,200 employees. The plant’s main product is aluminium can sheet for the packaging industry, particularly for beverage containers.
