US aluminium scrap exports to South Korea in 1Q2022 nosedive by 84.46% to 10,100 tonnes

The United States exported 10,100 tonnes of aluminium scrap to South Korea in the first quarter of 2022 (1Q2022), which on a Y-o-Y calculation nosedived by 54,900 tonnes or 84.46 per cent from 65,000 tonnes in 1Q2021. On a Q-o-Q comparison, a major decline of 81,400 tonnes or 88.96 per cent was recorded in 1Q2022, from 91,500 tonnes in 4Q2021.

As per the latest USGS statistics, the United States exported 3,710 tonnes of aluminium scrap to South Korea in March 2022, which hiked by 90 tonnes or 2.48 per cent M-o-M from 3,620 tonnes in February 2022. In February 2022, a surge of 870 tonnes or 31.63 per cent was witnessed from 2,750 tonnes in January. On a Y-o-Y calculation, a dropdown of 15,990 tonnes or 81.16 per cent was recorded in March 2022, from 19,700 tonnes in March 2021. 

The world of aluminium extrusions

The total amount of aluminium scrap exported by the United States in March settled at 37,900 tonnes, which heightened by 3,200 tonnes M-o-M from 34,700 tonnes in February 2022. In February also, a surge of 2,400 tonnes was recorded from 32,300 tonnes in January 2022.
