
The United States aluminium scrap exports to Indonesia have been incessantly growing over the past three months since June 2020, following a month-on-month plunge in May from 5,620 tonnes to 4,510 tonnes. The US Geological Survey found the United States in August exported 13,500 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Indonesia, up by 3,400 tonnes or 33.66 per cent from 10,100 tonnes in July.

In June, aluminium scrap exports from the United States to Indonesia significantly increased by 5,270 tonnes or 116.85 per cent month-on-month to 9,780 tonnes, followed by a very marginal rise of 320 tonnes in July.
On a year-on-year basis, the United States aluminium scrap exports to Indonesia in August 2020 expanded by 4,060 tonnes or 43 per cent from 9,440 tonnes.
In the first eight months of the year (January-August), the United States aluminium scrap exports to Indonesia totalled 67,100 tonnes, down by 2,500 tonnes or 3.59 per cent from 69,600 tonnes.
Indonesia was the fourth largest aluminium scrap export destination for the United States in August after Malaysia with 41,300 tonnes, India 27,000 tonnes, and the Republic of Korea with 23,800 tonnes.
