
The United States aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from Canada stood flat at 157,000 tonnes in November 2020 compared to the imports of 158,000 tonnes in the previous month, according to the US Geological Survey. However, the United States aluminium semis imports in October grew by 7,000 tonnes or 4.64 per cent from 151,000 tonnes in September. The imports in August were at 205,000 tonnes, meaning the US saw a monthly decline of 26.34 per cent in September 2020.

On a year-on-year basis, the United States aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from Canada stood 3.09 per cent or 5,000 tonnes lower than 162,000 tonnes.
The United States aluminium semis imports from Canada in the eleven months of the year amounted to 2.14 million tonnes, up by 14.44 per cent from 1.87 million tonnes during the same period last year.
The United States total aluminium crude metals and alloys imports in November 2020 stood at 241,000 tonnes, up 10,000 tonnes or 4.33 per cent month-on-month but down by tonnes or 20.20 per cent on year.
During January-November 2020, the United States aluminium semis imports totalled 3.04 million tonnes, down by 12.9 per cent from 3.49 million tonnes.
