
Ukraine is a developing country and ranks 88th on the Human Development Index. As of 2020, Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe alongside Moldova in terms of GDP per capita. Ukraine has a mixed economic system in which there is limited private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation. The major industrial sector that contributes to the economy of Ukraine is coal, electric power, ferrous, aluminium, machinery and transport equipment, chemicals, food processing, etc.

The Eastern European nation’s alumina exportation during 2017-19 has been recorded at 8.23 million tonnes. The analysed import of alumina for 2020 has been marked at 3.35 million tonnes, however, when it gets added to the existing three years it depicts 11.58 million tonnes.
In 2017, Ukraine’s export of alumina remained at 1.43 million tonnes, whereas in 2018 the export volume of alumina rose to 139.16%, as the import volume rose to 3.42 million tonnes.
Ukraine’s export of alumina has been recorded with a marginal drop of 1.16%, as the export volume stood at 3.38 million tonnes.
The analysed export volume for 2020 has been even marked with a drop of 0.88%, as the export volume is expected to remain at 3.35 million tonnes.
The major trading nations for Ukraine’s exportation of alumina are Russia, USA, Uzbekistan, etc.
