Tredegar officials confirm Bonnell staffing changes

A small number of top employees from Bonnell Aluminum were let go last week, according to officials with the Newnan industry's parent company, Tredegar Corporation in Richmond, Virginia.
'Unfortunately, from time to time, market conditions require us to make staffing reductions, despite our efforts to avoid these actions. Less than 2 percent of the Newnan employee base was affected by this recent reduction, and we remain optimistic about future growth opportunities in the aluminum extrusions market,' said Neill Bellamy, of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications for the Tredegar Corporation.
Bonnell Aluminum is a manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions with fini shing capabi l it ies that include anodizing, painting and thermal barrier assemblies. The company's facilities are located off Temple Avenue on Newnan's west side.
The company had just recently announced plans for a $17 million dollar expansion in February with a proposed startup date for early 2014.
