Three-month LME aluminium edged down 0.50% to close at US$2,563 per tonne on Wednesday, with open interest losing 15,874 lots to 653,000 lots. As of Wednesday August 18, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 2589.50 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 2589.50 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 2571.50 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 2571.50 per tonne; Dec 22 bid price stands at US$ 2540.50 per tonne, and Dec 22 offer price stands at US$ 2540.50 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1315125 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 864700 tonnes and Cancelled Warrants were 450425tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 2584.58 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased to stand at US$ 3080 per tonne on Thursday, 19 August, 2021.
The most active SHFE 2110 aluminium contract dropped 1.11% to end at RMB19,975 per tonne with short open interest up 8,472 lots to 226,000 lots. The contract is expected to trade between RMB19,800-20,100 per tonne.
