
Taiwan imported US$231 billion worth of goods in 2016. The country imports alumina to feed the domestic aluminium industry. France, China, Germany, Japan and India supply good amount of alumina to the country. The country is expected to import less alumina this year.

As shown in the data, Taiwan imported about 55650 tons of alumina in 2015. The country’s imports of alumina increased to 73319 tons in 2016. Taiwan’s alumina import is estimated to decrease this year. The country estimated to import 68771 tons of alumina in 2017.
The cost of alumina import stood at USD 43.95 million in 2015. In 2016, the import generated a cost of USD 64.90 million. The cost of import for alumina in 2017 is estimated to be USD 59 million.
