Sural Québec Inc. receives financial support from Government of Canada
"By supporting the start-up of Sural Québec Inc., the Government of Canada is showing that it is committed to stimulating economic growth and job creation," said Minister Lebel.
Sural, a Venezuelan multinational that is one of the world's leading manufacturers of aluminium and alloy rods produced using a continuous casting process, launched its Quebec subsidiary in 2012. The corporation currently owns factories in South America and Italy, as well as the Intral plant in Princeville, Quebec.
Sural Québec Inc. is in the process of building an additional plant that will include a continuous casting line for the manufacture of aluminium rods. The company's project consists of acquiring and installing a casting line and kilns as well as equipment for the purification of molten metal, the cooling and moulding of aluminium, and the packaging and transportation of finished products.
The financial support from Canada Economic Development will enable Sural Québec Inc.to acquire the equipment needed for the manufacture and international sale of these aluminium rods. The project is expected to result in the creation of some 50 jobs at the new plant and another 20 or so at the affiliated company, Intral.
This assistance, granted in the form of a $2,000,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
