The independent, third-party audit of the SAI facility was done by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd.

The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification was launched in May 2022, which defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance. The aim is to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.

On receiving the certification, Ben Huang, Representative of SAI, said: “Sustainability is a key aspect of SAI corporate strategy. It is an honour to become a member of ASI. With the vehicle electrification trend, SAI continues on exploring and developing forged aluminium application possibilities. We will devote our best to responsible aluminium value chain and persevere in maximising the contribution of aluminium.”

Future of Aluminium in Transportation Sector

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said: “We congratulate SAI for achieving Performance Standard Certification V3 (2022) Certification at its Douliu City manufacturing facility. Aluminum’s contribution to improved sustainability performance in vehicles is based in part on its lightweight nature, leading to weight reduction, improved efficiency, and enhanced performance. In addition, the lifetime of the vehicle can also be extended due to aluminium’s corrosion resistance properties. By attaining Performance Standard certification, SuperAlloy Industrial Co., Ltd. demonstrates its commitment to addressing a broad spectrum of ESG challenges in its production process, and can leverage the Standard in its pursuit to enhance its practices over time.”
