The company Städtler + Beck has developed the Aluplex, a new joint testing device made of aluminium. The integrated Plexiglas window enables the device to be precisely positioned on the joint to be tested.

The revision of the worksheet DWA-A 139 "Installation and testing of sewage pipes and sewers" from March 2019 gives concrete form to DIN EN 1610, which has been valid since 2015, also in the area of testing individual pipe connections. It is stated here that the test requirements for individual connection tests are higher than for section tests. According to DWA-A 139 Section 13.4.1, only double packer systems are to be used for checking individual connections, in which leaks between packer and pipe wall can be detected and documented. Besides, the test room should be visible to non-accessible pipelines during the test.

Städtler + Beck GmbH developed joint testing devices with the MUPP2 and the KOMUP Duo 15 years ago - that is, well before the requirements now formulated by the regulations - which monitor themselves and make the measurement results verifiable.
The current new development from Städtler + Beck is the Aluplex socket tester, which is offered as standard in the nominal sizes DN 700, 800, 900 and 1000. The nominal width DN 1200 is produced on request. The sealing of the test space from the pipe is ensured by the tried and tested hollow chamber profile that can be pressurized with up to 6 bars.
To enable the combination with a trolley, the Aluplex is made of aluminium and therefore only weighs around 50 kg on average. A plexiglass window enables the joint testing device to be positioned precisely on the joint to be tested using a camera system. Städtler + Beck also offer the new device as an Aluplex Duo.
