

European aluminium rolling and recycling firm Speira has appointed Peter Basten as a member of its Executive Management Team, reinforcing its focus on speciality aluminium products and innovation.

Basten brings twenty years of experience in the aluminium industry, primarily from Constellium. He previously led the global Packaging and Automotive Rolled Products (P&ARP) division. His earlier role as Executive Vice-President covered Strategy, Business Development, and R&D. Before Constellium, he worked at Rio Tinto's Alcan operations and served as a Strategy Consultant at Monitor Company.
Commenting on the appointment, Speira’s CEO Einar Glomnes said, ““Peter’s strong track record in leading strategic growth and innovation across global business lines as well as his extensive experience in the industry, especially in general management, sales and marketing, operational excellence, business planning, and R&D integration make him the ideal addition to our Executive Management Team.”

He added, “Speira will also massively benefit from his strong international foundation.”
The 50-year-old executive holds dual Swiss-Dutch citizenship. His academic credentials include master's degrees in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology and Economics & Corporate Management from ENSPM (École Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (IFP School)) in Rueil-Malmaison.
