Southwest Aluminum to fill aluminum auto body sheet vacancy in China

Southwest Aluminum (Group) will start mass production on its self-developed aluminum automotive body sheet (ABS) in H2 2016, with annual capacity expected at 5,000 tonnes, local media reported.
Due to restraints in capital, technology and equipment, made-in-China aluminum alloy automotive sheets are mainly used in vehicle structures, but its application in car body market stays vacant.
Some Sino-foreign and Chinese brand car manufacturers have shown intention of buying aluminum ABS from Southwest Aluminum (Group), the media added.
