South Korea’s aluminium semi-finished exports to the US up by 80% MoM in March 2020
South Korea exported 4,620 tonnes of aluminium semi-finished products to the US in the first three months of 2020, from 12,700 tonnes exported in the first three months of 2019, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey. Exports declined 63.6 per cent or 8080 tonnes year-on-year in three months period.
Aluminium semi-finished exports to the US came in at 8,770 tonnes in March 2020. That was down 58 per cent compared with the same period of 2019. South Korea had exported 85,880 tonnes in March 2019. On a month-on-month comparison, exports up by 80 per cent from February’s exports of 1,380 tonnes.
In January-March, exports of aluminium (crude metal and alloys, aluminium semi-finished products and scrap to the US registered 6,430 tonnes, a drop of 67 per cent from 19,600 tonnes in the same period last year.
Exports stood at 3,680 tonnes in March 2020, down 58 per cent from 8,700 tonnes in March 2018. On a monthly basis, exports jumped 118 per cent from February’s exports of 1,690 tonnes.
