Sohar Aluminium is strengthening its sustainability efforts by prioritising energy efficiency, cutting greenhouse gas emissions, and advancing its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship.

The company’s 2024 sustainability report details a series of targeted initiatives designed to align operations with Oman Vision 2040 and international climate commitments, while reinforcing its position as a leader in responsible aluminium production.
Sohar Aluminium Chief Executive Officer Eng. Said Mohammed Al Masoudi said, “Building on our ESG strategy and roadmap, 2024 marked a year of tangible progress in advancing sustainability across our operations. We strengthened our focus on resource efficiency, circularity, and low-carbon initiatives while fostering an inclusive workplace and supporting community well-being. Simultaneously, we reinforced governance frameworks to uphold transparency, integrity, and ethical business practices.”
Operating at an annual capacity of 395,000 tonnes of high-quality aluminium, Sohar Aluminium runs on a powerful current of over 395kA. Supporting its operations is a modern 1,000 MW combined cycle captive power plant, which achieves over 50 per cent efficiency in converting natural gas to electricity fully compliant with the stringent environmental standards set by Oman’s Environment Authority (EA).
