SMS bags aluminium product manufacturer Alcomet’s order for advanced cold rolling mill

Shumen, Bulgaria based aluminium product manufacturer Alcomet AD has awarded leading engineering solution provider SMS group the order to supply an advanced cold rolling mill for producing a wide range of high-quality aluminium strips.

Alcomet supplies rolled and extruded aluminium products to key Eastern European markets and its current portfolio features products such as tehnological foils, aluminium foil stock for industrial containers and daily household use, aluminium sheet and strips for coolers, construction, and heat exchangers. The company with almost 35 years of experience in non-ferrous metallurgy uses in-house cast strip of alloy series 1xxx, 3xxx and 8xxx as major input materials.

SMS group's new cold rolling mill will offer Alcomet the flexibility to further diversify its product range and improve on the product quality. The cold rolling mill of the proven CVCplus® six-high design is versatile in terms of functionality. It will facilitate production of up to 2.2-meter-wide and 0.15-millimeter-thin aluminium strip through a well-coordinated interaction between CVC® and a comprehensive range of further actuators under SMS group’s automation and control system AluControl®. One of the Group's ecoplants modules- A Multi-Plate® filter, on the other hand, will provide for ecological and economical treatment of oil in the rolling mill.
