SMM A00 aluminium ingot price closes the week with a fall of RMB80/t; Low carbon aluminium price declines by RMB63/t

On Friday, July 19, China's A00 aluminium ingot price dropped by RMB 80 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,490 per tonne. The average price is expected to hover between RMB 19,470 per tonne and RMB 19,510 per tonne, with the spot contract price estimated to be traded at a discount of RMB 80 to RMB 40 per tonne.

As per the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) data, the prices have descended in all the regions, with the highest in Shenyang and Chongqing, where they have slumped by RMB 120 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne. The price in Shenyang closed at RMB 19,450 per tonne and RMB 19,470 per tonne.

On the same day, the A00 aluminium ingot prices in Gongyi, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Tianjin and Linyi contracted by RMB 80 per tonne to dock at RMB 19,400 per tonne, RMB 19,480 per tonne, RMB 19,490 per tonne and RMB 19,540 per tonne. In Foshan, the price has declined by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 19,350 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has also lost RMB 63 per tonne to reside by RMB 20,260 per tonne. As per the SMM data, the high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) prices have also decreased by RMB 100 per tonne to peg at RMB 26,900 per tonne and RMB 27,900 per tonne.

On the other hand, the average alumina spot price has remained unchanged since July 12. Today's price has increased by RMB 1 per tonne to reach RMB 3,905 per tonne. The alumina prices have remained unchanged in almost all the provinces except in Shanxi, where it has grown by RMB 5 per tonne to arrive at RMB 3,915 per tonne.

According to the SMM analysis, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has lost RMB 50 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,950 per tonne, as of today. The average prices may be between RMB 19,800 per tonne and RMB 20,100 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) and the price of aluminium alloy (A380) have remained unchanged at RMB 19,700 per tonne and RMB 20,700 per tonne.
