On May 2, SIG, a UK-based flexible packaging company, announced its partnership with dairy company Hochwald. The cooperation will see the German business use its SIG Vita family-sized packaging for its new plant-based goods. According to SIG, sustainability is essential to its operations. As a result, the aluminium used is ASI (Aluminium Steward Initiative) certified. In response to increased demand for a greener and cleaner environment, many firms are embracing aluminium as a transitional material to a more sustainable future.

Because of its high recyclability and lightweight, aluminium is a crucial component in a more circular, low-carbon economy. Also, the paperboard used in SIG Vita is derived from 100 per cent FSC-certified forests and other regulated sources. Hochwalds claims that the new packaging is very convenient and is a critical component of the product idea and the company's path towards the plant-based sector.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Hochwald again and now jointly introducing our packaging innovation SIG Vita. The SIG Vita family pack will help Hochwald, as a new player in the plant-based beverage segment, to differentiate their SKUs and spark consumer interest. Hochwald is the first customer to use SIG's next generation filling technology, setting the course for a new era of high-performance production in the beverage and food filling industry," said José Matthijsse, the President and General Manager of Europe at SIG.
ASI Aluminium is metal manufactured and obtained in line with ASI Standards, from its mined or recycled source to each stage in the value chain. The aluminium in an ASI-labeled product corresponds to an equal quantity of ASI Aluminium generated via an unbroken ASI Certified Entities supply chain. In the German market, four new oat-based products will be offered in SIG Vita 1000ml packaging. Hochwalds claims the new packaging is very convenient and critical to the product idea and the company's path towards the plant-based sector.
According to the international packaging manufacturer, SIG Vita (previously SIG Combivita) is designed for contemporary living and matches customer aspirations. According to the firm, SIG Vita is the ideal partner for Hochwald's Bärenmarke oat drinks as the company prepares for the future. Most aluminium beverage cans, automotive doors, and window frames are recycled. And this loop may go on forever. Consequently, about 75 per cent of all aluminium ever manufactured is still in use today.
