
Saudi Arabia’s exports of aluminium semi-finished products (plates, sheets, bars, etc.) to the US totalled 20,800 tonnes in January-March 2020, 96% higher than the corresponding period of 2019. Exports were 10,600 tonnes in January-March 2019, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey.

Exports in March registered a drop year-on-year. Semi-finished exports came in at 5,910 tonnes, a drop of 11.66% from 6,690 tonnes in March 2019. On a month-on-month comparison, exports decreased by 21% from 7,450 tonnes in February.
Saudi Arabia’s exports of total aluminium (crude metal and alloys and semi-finished products) to the US stood at 23,000 tonnes in the first three months of 2020, an increase of 35% from 17,000 tonnes in the first three months of 2019.
In March, aluminium exports stood 22% lower compared with the same period of 2019. Exports to the US dropped from 7,610 tonnes to 5,910 tonnes in March 2020. On a month-on-month comparison, exports fell by 25% from February’s export volume of 7,840 tonnes.
