Sapa rolls out supplier declaration

The new supplier declaration states that improper payments, corruption and bribery are strictly prohibited, as is child labor or forced labor. Suppliers must pay fair wages that comply with local laws and regulations and compete in a fair manner, complying with anti-trust laws.

The declaration is being rolled out to Sapa’s largest suppliers. Eventually, all suppliers will be expected to sign the declaration, which is accessible in all relevant language versions on the company web site, sapagroup.com.
Same values, principles
By signing the new declaration, a supplier agrees to adhere to Sapa’s values and principles.
“Our customers expect us to work according to certain values as stipulated in our Code of Conduct, and we are making every effort to promote these values throughout the supply chain as well,” says Peter den Dikken, Sapa’s head of strategic sourcing.
“The supplier declaration helps ensure that our suppliers work according to the same principles.”
