Sapa Profiles provides design consultation and fabrication for DawesGuard safety system

Dawes Highway Safety Ltd recently turned to Sapa Profiles UK for support with the design, extrusion and fabrication of profiles for its DawesGuard DropDown Technology safety system.
Sapa Profiles provided initial design consultation and aided Dawes with fabrication processes including machining and anodising, as well as quality control for the extrusions.
James Dawes, founder and managing director, Dawes, said: “I was impressed by the service we received from Sapa from the start."

DawesGuard DropDown Technology is a fully retractable safety system that can be fitted to any heavy goods vehicle under run bar with the aim of preventing wheels passing over a person who is on the road.
Sapa provided the initial consultation and tooling of two sections for Dawes. The sections were then extruded and machined, before being anodised and then finally quality controlled by Sapa.
Dawes products are made from aluminium, creating principle components for a revolutionary automotive safety product. Aluminium is widely recognised as fit for purpose in a wide range of automotive applications as it is strong, lightweight and can be anodised to match existing vehicle body parts.
Dawes Highway Safety is based in Andover, Hampshire and was founded in 2015 by James Dawes.
