Sapa completes Cressona expansion
The facility is part of a $10M project that expanded casting pit operations in five cast houses, including Cressona, Spanish Fork, UT, Delhi, LA, Yankton, SD and Toronto, Canada.
The project added 100 million pounds of additional annual capacity to Sapa’s total casting operations.
Taking a little over a year to complete, the Cressona casthouse features casting equipment dedicated to specialty alloys that will allow for a faster, more efficient product changeover.
The equipment includes a single melt furnace, a tilting holder, and cast pit.
The Cressona plant produces speciality products for markets including commercial transportation, automotive, defence, industrial-consumer and thermal management.
