Rising alumina prices squeeze profit at Chinese aluminium smelters, SMM says

<p>Rising alumina prices and falling aluminium prices have reduced profit at Chinese aluminium smelters, SMM learned.<br /><br /><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/alumina.jpg" alt="News" width="293" height="205" /><br /><br />Chinese aluminium smelters in SMM survey sample reported profit of 1,000-1,160 yuan per tonne last week.<br /><br />{googleAdsense}<br /><br />Alumina prices gained another 30 yuan per tonne, while average spot aluminium price in Shanghai dropped 142 yuan per tonne to 12,552 yuan per tonne last week, SMM data showed.</p>
