Rio Tinto announced first quarter 2019 production results. Bauxite production stood at 12.8 million tonnes in Q1 2019, up one per cent from the same period of 2018.
“Increased production capacity following the expansion of Amrun in Queensland was partly offset by weather events throughout the quarter at Weipa, Amrun and Gove, which significantly impacted production,” the company said in its press release.
