Rexam to sponsor AmeriCAN Canned Craft Beer Festival for fourth year

In 2014, craft beer volume sales increased more than 17 percent, and dollar sales were up 20.5 percent based on data from Chicago-based Information Resources Inc.
Now in its fifth year, the AmeriCAN Canned Craft Beer Festival will feature more than 300 canned craft beers from local and national breweries and include food, music and other entertainment.
Rexam will continue its mission to increase aluminum can recycling, providing bins throughout the event, and then working with festival organizers to ensure all the collected cans are recycled and the proceeds are donated to a local charity.
“More and more brewers are embracing aluminum cans as the perfect craft beer package,” said Claude Marbach, president, Rexam BCNA. “Aluminum cans preserve beer’s taste and freshness longer. They are excellent for outdoor activities as they often allowed at parks, lakes and other locations where glass is not. And cans are the most sustainable beverage package in the world recycled at double the rate of any other option. This sponsorship is an important part of our ongoing efforts to educate breweries and consumers on the cans’ superiority.”
