On Friday, July 1, Norsk Hydro, one of the world’s largest aluminium companies worldwide, announced its financial and operational results for the second quarter of 2023. The company highlighted that it survived the weaker market and price pressure with strong extrusion margins and made good progress on low-carbon aluminium partnerships in Q2 2023 ended June 30.
On Thursday, July 20, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price hiked by US$29.5 per tonne or 1.37 per cent and US$30 per tonne or 1.40 per cent to settle at US$2,171 per tonne and US$2,172 per tonne.

India is planning to build an industrial water transport corridor in the east. On July 18, Marubeni Corporation reported that aluminium stocks at three major Japanese ports were up by nearly 1 per cent to 357,490 tonnes by end-June, from 354,000 tonnes month-on-month.
