
In East & Central Europe, primary aluminium production came in at 340,000 tonnes in November 2020, representing a plunge of 11,000 tonnes or 3.12 per cent month-on-month. The production in October stood at 351,000 tonnes, up by 13,000 tonnes or 3.85 per cent from 338,000 tonnes in September.
On a year-on-year calculation, primary aluminium production in East & Central Europe stood 5,000 tonnes or 1.45 per cent lower than 345,000 tonnes.

Total production in three months during September-November 2020 amounted to 1.029 million tonnes, down by 1.53 per cent from 1.045 million tonnes during the same period last year.
During January-November 2020, primary aluminium production in East & Central Europe totalled 3.801 million tonnes, flat compared with 3.800 million tonnes during January-November 2019.
Primary aluminium production in West Europe also declined month-on-month by 8,000 tonnes or 2.86 per cent to stand at 272,000 tonnes in November 2020. In October, output stood at 280,000 tonnes, down by 10,000 tonnes or 3.57 per cent from 270,000 tonnes in September 2020. This brings the three months production to 822,000 tonnes, 2.6 per cent lower than 844,000 tonnes.
On a year-on-year basis, primary aluminium production in West Europe stood down by 10,000 tonnes or 3.55 per cent from 282,000 tonnes.
During January-November 2020, primary aluminium output in West Europe came in at 3.051 million tonnes, down by 3.3 per cent from 3.155 million tonnes during the corresponding period last year.
