The 26 workers those for the last five years have been struggling implacably to profess a future and on the upcoming 30th November, they are seeing peril of their last hope to be eradicated.

The Olmedo bauxite mine workers, presently employees of IGEA Spa Company have manifested yet another state of agitation. Although, the extraction site remains closed since 2015, while in the next two weeks they will be without a contract and hopeless.

They have addressed the President of the region and to the President of the Regional Council of Sardinia, the department of Industry, to the sole Director and the Personnel Manager of IGEA spa. The workers immediately urge for a meeting to source an agreement for the continuation of their employment relationship.
With the impending expiry of the employment contract, the workers employed by IGEA SpA in the Olmedo mine are compelling for a fresh meeting. It would seem that the mining company and the Department of Industry, at the moment, do not have any solutions to ensure the renewal of contracts continuously. However, in recent months, during a summit, the possibility of relocating workers in maintenance activities was envisioned, but as of yet, there is no official decision.
