NTPC Green Energy Limited subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has awarded a large utility-scale solar contract to KPI Green Energy Limited for the development of a 500 MW solar PV project in Rajasthan.
{alcircleadd}The project will be developed in Bikaner and carries a total contract value of around INR 6.21 billion (USD 65.89 million), excluding GST. According to the award details, the work has been divided into two sections, a 300 MW package worth INR 3,670 million (USD 38.94) million and a 200 MW package valued at INR 2540 million (USD 26.95 million).

KPI Green Energy’s scope extends beyond supplying solar equipment. The company will also handle transportation, installation, testing and commissioning, along with civil and associated infrastructure work related to the project.
The agreement includes long-term post-commissioning responsibilities as well. KPI will manage operations and maintenance for three years after commercial operations begin, followed by a separate 10-year annual maintenance contract.
The project marks the company’s expansion into Rajasthan, one of India’s largest solar development regions due to its high irradiation levels and rapid renewable infrastructure growth.

For NTPC Renewable Energy, the project forms part of broader efforts to expand renewable generation capacity as India continues to push toward cleaner power sources and lower-carbon electricity production.
KPI Green Energy said the project will be executed in line with the timelines and terms outlined in the notification of award, while confirming that the transaction does not involve any related-party arrangement.
NTPC Renewable Energy operates under NTPC Limited through NTPC Green Energy Limited, which has been expanding its renewable portfolio across solar and wind energy as part of NTPC’s broader energy transition strategy.
