There is some good news on the job front in Oswego County as Novelis announces plans for an expansion.
The company, located in Scriba, produces more than 50 percent of the aluminum used in the automobile industry. With incentives from state and local governments, Novelis says it will spend $200 million to develop two new processing lines, which will produce about 200,000 additional tons of aluminum each year.
The additional lines will mean an additional 100 jobs at the plant.
The expansion project should be completed by the summer of 2013.
