Vedanta, like any other Indian aluminium producers, links its aluminium product prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on London Metal Exchange. Since September 11 to September 25, aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange declined from US$ 1746.50 per tonne to US$ 1708.50 per tonne, marking the overall downfall of 3.58 per cent over the year till now.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
