Moonen 110, the three-deck steel hull full displacement motor yacht, has completed its first week of sea trials and endurance test at the Dutch coast on the North Sea. Built using aluminium, the yacht's exterior was designed by René van der Velden Yacht Design, with interiors from Studio Indigo and naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design.

"It's always exciting to take a brand new design out for the first time. She performed very well at sea, very stable and comfortable. We really noticed how low the noise and vibrations levels are. She's a beautiful boat," said Project Manager John Bechtold.
With a speed of 110 knots and a top speed of 13 knots, the aluminium super-yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar engines, giving them the needed boost. One of the biggest advantages of using aluminium to construct yachts is its lightweight, strong, recyclable and excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
“The Moonen 110 is a timeless beauty that exemplifies Dutch design excellence. For us that means beautifully designed spaces to be in, but also precision engineering and very high quality craftsmanship. For example the Owner Stateroom is exceptional thanks to both the sweeping 180-degree panoramic views as well as the high comfort levels. When the yacht is at anchor with the generator running, the Owner Stateroom will have a noise level of just 43dB(A),” added Commercial Director Victor Caminada.
