Mingtai Aluminum may become CSR Sifang’s raw material supplier

Mingtai Aluminum announced on November 15 that the company has signed a cooperation framework agreement with CSR Sifang Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., allowing it to share the technologies and become a raw material supplier of CSR Sifang.
The agreement includes four aspects: CSR Sifang agrees to share proprietary high-speed EMU aluminum material technologies and quality standards and to provide technical support, enabling Mingtai to become a competent aluminum material supplier for CSR Sifang; CSR Sifang will also share high-speed EMU aluminum material welding and processing technologies, training Mingtai into a competent component supplier for CSR Sifang; CSR Sifang plans to build an urban rail transport vehicle base in Zhengzhou that manufactures and repairs primarily intercity trains but also high-speed EMUs and other types of rail transport vehicles, in which Mingtai will invest and have interests; CSR Sifang will form a consortium with other strategic investors, including Mingtai, to engage in the construction of intercity railways in Henan and the development of towns where the railway stations are located.
As one of the country’s leading aluminum rolling companies, Mingtai specializes in the production and marketing of aluminum foils and has an annual capacity of 400,000 tons. The company has chosen to upgrade itself in an environment where the government’s overcapacity reduction efforts. CSR Sifang is a subsidiary of CSR Corporation Limited, and owns a complete research, manufacturing, and service system for high-speed EMUs, intercity trains, mass transit vehicles, DMUs, and high-grade passenger vehicles.
