Since early March this year, Longkou City in east China's Shandong Province has embarked on the construction of 21 projects, representing a combined investment of RMB 19.6 billion. Notably, on March 14th, significant progress was observed at the construction site of the high-end lightweight aluminium sheet and strip project within the Nanshan Aviation Material Industrial Park. The primary structure of the steel factory, covering an area of nearly 100 mu, has now taken shape.
About the aluminium sheet project
Upon its completion by the end of 2025, the high-end lightweight aluminium sheet and strip project is poised to yield an annual output of 200,000 tonnes of lightweight aluminium sheets and strips. These products will encompass a range of critical aluminium alloy materials, including large-size aluminium alloy skin plates for aerospace applications and lightweight aluminium alloy outer panels for automobiles.
This comprehensive production will ensure a stable supply of skin-thin plates across the spectrum of domestic aircraft series. The project, set to be a hallmark development for the province in 2024, has been advancing steadily since its inception in February 2023.
Other projects
Shandong Nanshan Zhishang Sci-Tech Co., Ltd.'s high-performance differentiated polyamide filament project has earned its place among the major initiatives for Shandong Province in 2024. In recent years, Nanshan Zhishang has ventured into new textile fibre materials, amassing a wealth of talent and technical expertise in textile fibre production. Polyamide fibres offer exceptional strength, wear resistance, and moisture absorption advantages.
These initiatives encompass various sectors, including aerospace materials, high-end automatic control equipment, and the comprehensive utilization of butane. This broad scope spans sectors such as new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, and the high-end chemical industry. In the ongoing year, Longkou aims to advance the development of 203 key projects at the municipal level and beyond, with a total investment exceeding an impressive RMB 446 billion.
