
Three-month LME aluminium opened at US$2,695 per tonne last Friday morning and ranged between US$2,678-2,733.50 per tonne before closing at US$2,733 per tonne, an increase of US$31.50 per tonne or 1.17 per cent. Trading volume was 14,757 lots, and open interest decreased by 11,112 lots to 646,000 lots.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price rose slightly by US$1.50 per tonne on Friday, September 3, to stand at US$2,696 per tonne, following a rise of US$27 per tonne on the previous day. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price dropped by US$2 per tonne to come in at US$2,703.50 per tonne. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price hovered around US$2,647.50 per tonne, down by US$14 per tonne from US$2,661.50 per tonne on September 2.
LME aluminium opening stock grew from 1335300 tonnes to 1343425 tonnes. Live Warrants stood at 875725 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants totalled 467700 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price settled at US$2,690.39 per tonne as of September 3.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE soared by US$71 per tonne to stand at US$3373 per tonne on Monday, September 6.
The most-traded SHFE 2110 aluminium closed up 0.26 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,255 per tonne, with open interest down 15623 lots to 294860 lots.
The most-traded SHFE 2110 aluminium contract opened last Friday’s night session at RMB 21,370 per tonne, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 21,465 per tonne and RMB 21,300 per tonne before closing at RMB 21,440 per tonne, up RMB 185 per tonne or 0.87 per cent. Trading volume was 106,000 lots, and open interest increased by 4,140 lots to 299,000 lots.
