
LME aluminium opened at US$2,204.5 per tonne on Friday, with its high and low at US$2,229 per tonne and $2,195 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,227 per tonne, an increase of US$18 per tonne, or 0.81 per cent, from Thursday.

On Friday, July 28, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$14 per tonne or 0.64 per cent and US$14.5 per tonne or 0.66 per cent to close at US$2,161 per tonne and US$2,16.50 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price slumped by US$17 per tonne or 0.76 per cent to halt at US$2,202 per tonne and US$2,203 per tonne. December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price also dipped by US$10 per tonne or 0.42 per cent to clock at US$2,365 per tonne and US$2,370 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock stood at 509000 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants settled at 283900 tonnes and 225100 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stood at US$2214 tonnes after recording a fall of US$11.67 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
On Monday, July 31, the aluminium benchmark price on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) slipped by US$5 per tonne or 0.19 per cent to reach US$2,572 per tonne.
Last Friday night, the most-traded SHFE 2309 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,400 per tonne, with the lowest and highest prices at RMB 18,305 per tonne and RMB 18,415 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,355 per tonne, down RMB 20 per tonne or 0.11 per cent from Thursday.
