LME aluminium benchmark price descends to US$2180/t after a surge day ago; SHFE is closed for National Day holiday
On Friday, September 30, LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price plunged by US$81 per tonne, following an outstanding surge on the previous day.
While LME aluminium cash bid price came in at US$2,179.50 per tonne, LME aluminium official settlement price stood at US$2,180 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price totalled US$2,195 per tonne and US$2,197 per tonne, down by US$178 per tonne and US$181 per tonne, respectively. December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price lost 3.37 per cent and 3.36 per cent to rest at US$2,293 per tonne and US$2,298 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock declined 1,925 tonnes to stand at 332175 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants for the same day were recorded at 261300 tonnes and 70875 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price expanded US$96.12 per tonne to hover around US$2,231.74 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
The SHFE market is closed today for the National Day holiday. On Friday, September 30, the SHFE price built up by US$53 per tonne to close the week at US$2,581 per tonne
The most-traded SHFE 2211 aluminium closed up 1.67 per cent or RMB 300 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,270, with open interest down 18,318 lots to 160,841 lots.
