Lights 4 Living respond to new range of aluminium lamp shades

London studio International have released an exciting new range of aluminium lamp shades, from designers Marc Bell and Robin Grasby, who won third prize at the [D3] Contest for young designers with the product in 2012, reports Zeen. The design is named Apollo, and the products are made from modular spun aluminium shades with laser cut slits. Different combinations mean that light can be filtered depending on your requirement or desire.

The Apollo comes with a standard screw cap holder that can be layered with either perforated or solid shades to direct and filter light. This allows you more control over the level and nature of light in a given room. The range was launched properly at designjunction during last month’s London Design Festival – displayed in an installation of over 200 lights. Before this, they were exhibited as prototypes at imm cologne.

Lights 4 Living, a leading home lighting company specialising in stylish and affordable lighting for the home, have expressed admiration for the Apollo aluminium lamp shades. A spokesperson for the company said:

“At Lights 4 Living, we’re always on the lookout for innovative new lighting designs, and Bell and Grasby’s aluminium lamp shades are a brilliant example of how practicality can meet cutting-edge design ideas. By allowing the user to manipulate the light’s illumination in terms of direction and dispersion, these lamp shades would work well in any room and for any purpose.”

The full lighting range is currently available to buy directly from the designers, as well as from a few retailers in UK and Europe. Lights 4 Living are a leading lighting company based in Bath that stock a wide and ever-growing range of home lighting.
