In her new role, Haury will connect manufacturing practices with environmental stewardship and public engagement. She is expected to lead initiatives centered on recycling, sustainability education, and community outreach. Working alongside The Recycling Society through its Million Can Contest program, Haury will promote aluminium recycling awareness and help develop school and community-based programs aimed at improving recycling participation across Kentucky.
“Aluminium recycling and all metals recovery are critical to our industry, our economy and our environment,” Haury said. “Helping our children to learn the importance of recycling and giving them the tools to become lifelong recyclers equals sustainability. MI2’s plan, in partnership with The Recycling Society, is to take the program we’ve developed in our region to the whole Commonwealth and really make a difference in recycling rates.”
Haury contributes decades of expertise in sustainable manufacturing and environmental engineering. As a senior environmental engineer, she oversaw waste reduction, recycling initiatives, water quality management, and regulatory compliance for Logan Aluminum for almost two decades. Additionally, she also led environmental efforts during three significant facility expansions, advancing long-term sustainability objectives.
