Kingsland Drinks has expanded its partnership with organic wine producer Vinca by adding production of the brand’s wines in aluminium bottles, further strengthening the relationship between the two companies while broadening its alternative packaging offering.

The beverage solutions company will now produce Vinca’s red, white and rosé wines in 75cl aluminium bottles made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium. The agreement builds on an existing partnership under which Kingsland Drinks already manufactures Vinca’s canned range of organic Sicilian red, white, rosé and sparkling wines.

The move represents a strategic investment by Kingsland Drinks as it seeks to meet growing demand for sustainable, lightweight and recyclable packaging solutions in the wine sector. The company said expanding its aluminium bottle capabilities will give brands greater flexibility to innovate while maintaining product quality and scalability.

Commenting on the development, Paul Braydon, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Kingsland Drinks, said: “Alternative formats are no longer niche – they’re becoming an essential part of how the wine category evolves. Our investment in aluminium bottle capability is about giving brands like Vinca the freedom to innovate while maintaining quality, scalability and sustainability at the core.”

Braydon added that extending the partnership from canned wines into 75cl aluminium bottles was a natural next step, given Kingsland Drinks already produces Vinca’s full canned range.

Vinca co-founder Jack Green said aluminium bottles have become an important part of the company’s portfolio because they deliver sustainability benefits while retaining the familiarity of a traditional 75cl wine bottle. He added that moving production to Kingsland Drinks would provide greater confidence in quality, support future growth and strengthen the long-term partnership, while also enabling production closer to key markets.

According to Kingsland Drinks, aluminium bottles offer an attractive alternative to glass because they are infinitely recyclable and benefit from widespread collection infrastructure across the UK. The company noted that these advantages can also help reduce Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees.

Kingsland Drinks highlighted that each aluminium bottle weighs around 70 grams, compared with approximately 450 grams for a standard glass wine bottle. The lower weight can reduce carbon emissions associated with transport and logistics by up to four times.

The company also pointed to growing demand for aluminium bottles at festivals and similar venues, where their lightweight, shatterproof nature and ability to chill drinks more quickly due to high thermal conductivity make them particularly suitable. Vinca’s aluminium-bottled wines are currently available through retailers including Tesco, M&S and various online platforms, with wider distribution expected later this year.
