
The economic growth of Kazakhstan is powered by structural reforms, abundant hydrocarbon resources, strong domestic demand, and foreign direct investment (FDI). These factors have supported the country to diminish poverty and transform into an upper-middle-income economy.

The Central Asian nation, Kazakhstan imported 14,644 tonnes of aluminium cans during 2018-20, which accounted revenue expenditure of $82.16 million for the import.
In 2018, the former Soviet Republic imported only 1150 tonnes of aluminium cans, with expenditure documenting to $6.37 million, whereas, in 2019, the import denoted a robust growth by 432%, as the import volume leapt to 6118 tonnes due to a surge in domestic demand and the expenditure also escalated to $36.05 million.

Kazakhstan’s importation of cans in 2020 revealed a further rise by 20.56 million, as the import volume scaled to 7376 tonnes, with expenditure counted to $39.74 million.
The import of aluminium cans in 2021is analysed with another growth by 7.71%, as the import volume is predicted to gain momentum and reach 7945 tonnes, expenditure to stand at $46.65 tonnes.
Russia, China and Germany remain as the most traded destination for Kazakhstan’s import of aluminium cans.
